Packing Day!!

Our bags are packed, including 3,000 pairs of donated glasses!!  A huge thanks goes out to Dr. Zuber for holding all our supplies in her basement and donating her house for packing day.

Physical Therapy Committee

The Physical Therapy Committee has been busy improving on last year's back pain exercises! Instead of just having one set of exercises to teach and distribute to patients, we have two sets of exercises that will be taught and distributed based on individual patient needs. We have also developed a flow chart to help PHOP participants sort patients into one of two causes for their back pain. We are very excited to have physical therapists on board for this year's trip!

Eye and Glasses Committee

This year, our group has been working to collect sunglasses, reading and prescription glasses. We have been reading and labeling them to allow for easy distribution once in Peru. We have also collected eye cloths to be used for dry eyes, eye drops, and a few medications and eye examination equipment. Dr. Sangita Mehta, an  ophthalmologist in Cleveland has helped us with our project, such as with figuring out what we need to take with us. She has also trained our group on how to recognize different eye conditions that we might see in Peru. Suggestions and help from members who have gone in previous years have also been very important for the success of our committee.
